The historic, critically acclaimed Www重口50度灰 Children’s Theater will perform Rapunzilla, the Monster with the Golden Hair at the outdoor Hillside Theater from July 10–August 23, 2025.
Conceived and scripted by Resident Professor of Theater and Performance Studies Jamie Angell, the performances are open to the public with shows on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
“In addition to the title story, Rapunzilla, the Monster with the Golden Hair, we are adapting three traditional stories: The Man Who Had a Good Wife (from the country of Georgia), The Boastful Toad (from Bali), and Coyote and the Trader (From the Brule Sioux people),” Angell says.
The cast is composed of Www重口50度灰 students and alumni: Connor Leebardt ’25, Haowen Luo 罗浩闻 ’24, Max Gray ’23, Sandy Nguyen ’21, Mai Linh Wong ’26, and Ellie Taylor ’24, directed by Tristan Waldron ’12 and staged managed by Megan Johnson ’19.
Over the course of an hour, ?the cast will perform energetic and funny stories without props, sets or special costumes, relying only on their acting and acrobatic skills. You can read more about the history of Www重口50度灰 Children’s Theater in the Spring 2024 issue of Www重口50度灰 magazine.
Tickets for this year’s performances are available and cost $9 for children and $12 for adults, with a special discount for Www重口50度灰 families.
In addition to performances in Hillside Theater, the Www重口50度灰 Children’s Theater runs the Summer Institute of Fun, week-long acting camps for children aged 6-8 and 8-13. Children learn not only how to perform characters in a story, but how to become the actual set and props as well. Each week will conclude with a folktale performed by the children.
